Rubinstein was double-registered--Holsteiner and Dutch Warmblood. In Holstein he was known as Lepanto, by Lorenz by the legendary Ladykiller. He was Reserve Champion of the German Stallion Inspection, after which he was exported to the Netherlands, where he was 2nd Reserve Champion at the Dutch Stallion Testing, and awarded the appellation "Class A". He was a successful jumper in Europe, and after he was imported to the USA in 1985 he had a successful second career as a Grand Prix Dressage horse. He competed in Grand Prix until he was 20, and trained many riding students until he was 24.
