Rubinstein was double-registered--Holsteiner and Dutch Warmblood.  In Holstein he was known as Lepanto, by Lorenz by the legendary Ladykiller.  He was Reserve Champion of the German Stallion Inspection, after which he was exported to the Netherlands, where he was 2nd Reserve Champion at the Dutch Stallion Testing, and awarded the appellation "Class A".  He was a successful jumper in Europe, and after he was imported to the USA in 1985 he had a successful second career as a Grand Prix Dressage horse.  He competed in Grand Prix until he was 20, and trained many riding students until he was 24.

Highlights of his career include:

  • Reserve Champion in 100 days testing in Holland
  • 2nd Reserve Champion Stallion Inspection Holstein, Germany, licensed by German Verband and recognized by The American Holsteiner Horse Association, Inc. as LEPANTO #1124/75
  • Successful jumper in Holland
  • Twice CDS 'Horse of The Year' 2nd and 3rd levels
  • Twice 'Reserve Champion' AHSA Intermediare II
  • Twice USDF all breeds 'Horse of The Year' Holsteiner and Dutch
  • 1991 Intermediare II CDS 'Horse of The Year', Grand Prix
  • CDS 'Horse of The Year' AHSA Intermediare II Region 7 Champion
  • Sire of Grand Prix Jumpers and Grand Prix Dressage Horses
  • Sire of NA/WPN (Dutch) "Top Ten" mares, colts, and geldings at Dutch Breed Inspections
